6-day Desert Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga and Zagora itinerary

 Day 1: Marrakech – Telouet – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we will start our 6-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga. We will travel over the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi N'tichka Pass at 2,260 m, before arriving at the Pacha Glaoui Kasbah in Telouet.

Take a break and savor a tasty lunch. We will head to Ait Ben Haddou in the afternoon via the Ounila valley and its Berber settlements. Then, The journey continues to Ouarzazate. Spend the night at a hotel or riad.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Draa valley – Zagora

Following breakfast, we'll depart for Agdez over the Anti-Atlas at 1660 meters above sea level, then continue on to Zagora along the Draa valley with its line of palm trees and pass by different traditional Berber settlements before arriving at Zagora.

Take a short break to enjoy lunch. After that, we will Travel to Tamegroute in the afternoon to explore the historic Koranic library, the underground kasbah, and the pottery factory. we'll go back to Zagora to stay the night in a hotel or riad.

Day 3: Zagora – Tazarine – Alnif – Rissani – Merzouga

On the third day of this 6 days trip from Marrakech to Merzouga desert, we will depart from Zagora and go once more through the Draa valley before taking a trail, that leads to Taftechna and the village of Ait Ouaazique, which is home to engravers.

We will continue on to Tazarine and Alnif, where we will have lunch. After lunch, we will travel via Rissani in the direction of the magnificent Merzouga, Erg Chebbi dunes.

In order to enjoy the sunset and spend the night in a desert camp in the middle of the dunes, we will then switch from our 4x4 to camels. Dinner and a night spent in a luxurious desert camp.

Day 4: Merzouga – Khamlia – Nomad family – Merzouga 4×4 Desert Tour

Our 6 Days desert tour from Marrakech contains a visit to beautiful spots in the Merzouga desert on the fourth day.

The intriguing village of Khamlia is one among them. It is an ancient village also referred to as the Black Village.

The people who live there are originally from Senegal, Mali, and Sudan, among other African nations.

You'll learn about the culture and lifestyle of the locals while listening to Gnawa music in this village.

Then, as we continue our trip, we will stop by some nomadic families who are housed in Berber tents.

After that, have lunch with one of the families and experience medfouna (Berber pizza, as some people refer to it).

You will get the chance to visit Rissani after arriving back in Merzouga. One of the first Alaouite dynasties is the Rissani (royal family). With its towers and ksars, this city is special.

It is renowned for its cultural diversity and large souk (traditional market). Lastly, we will head to the hotel, where you will spend the night

Day 5: Merzouga – Erfoud - Melaab - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley

On the fifth day of our 6 Days desert tour from Marrakech, we'll begin by watching the stunning sunrise close to your hotel. You will enjoy breakfast at the hotel after catching lovely shots of the sunrise.

The excursion will start in the Sahara Desert and travel through Erfoud or the fossil city, the latter of which has diverse mineral mines. We will visit the Fezna irrigation system after exploring the fossils. There are many wells here that are used to water the city's farms.

After that, you'll go to Melaab, a well-known Berber village, to try on its traditional attire. Afterwards, you'll travel via Tinghir to see Morocco's tallest canyons.

However, the main reason your driver will stop here is to give you the chance to explore this stunning location, observe the underground river and people climbing and picnicking.

Lastly, you will proceed directly to Boumalne Dades to spend the night in a traditional Berber riad or hotel.

Day 6: Boumalne Dades - Roses Valley - High Atlas - Marrakech

After breakfast in the early morning, we will start the ultimate day of our 6 days desert trip from Marrakech to Merzouga via Zagora by returning to Marrakech via the Roses Valley to reach Kalaat M'gouna.

The latter is a charming little city that is known for its flower growers. People in this region produce fresh rose water, oils, and perfume.

We will arrive at Ouarzazate city after an hour of traveling from Kalaat M'gouna, where you may have a tour of movie sets and studios. In Ouarzazate, often known as the Hollywood of Africa, you can shoot pictures from the outside, but you need to pay a cost to enter.

After that, we carry on toward Marrakesh over the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka pass . In the middle of the Atlas Mountains, we'll take a lunch break.

Finally, our 6 Days desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga will terminate with a drop-off at your Marrakech accommodation.
